These pictures were taken during my trip to Oregon in February, 2002. Gathering for the trip were myself, Jesse, Kevin, Justin, Brian, and Brian's girlfriend, Melissa. Justin and I started off our vacation on Thursday evening once we flew into Portland. Jesse picked us up at the airport and we drove out to Hood River to meet up with the rest of the crew. Brian and Melissa had gotten there a day earlier. Friday morning we hit Mt. Hood Meadows early and were on the slopes by 9am for some excellent powder. Later in the day the lift to the top of the mountain opened and that's where the fun peeked... fresh snow to tear through. It was amazing.
We finally tired out around 4pm and spent the next few hours warming up, eating, drinking, and goofing off in the lodge. We then headed back to Hood River to clean up and rest our aching bodies. But the fun hadn't stopped yet! Amity was staying aboard a yacht on the Columbia River, so we went to visit her. There we met her sister, Hanni, the boat's captain, Dain, and many others (no pictures, oops!). It was a good time, but we turned in early because our very long day was catching up with us... could it be we are finally getting OLD?!?! Nah!
Saturday morning, we slept in... mostly due to the fact that none of us wanted to move. We went to a little cafe called Carolyn's for breakfast, then we drove to Timberline, the resort on the other side of the mountain, to check out a different set of slopes. After a few hours, we wore ourselves out again and drove to Portland for some night-time entertainment. Jesse's roommate, Jackie, came out with us to our first stop, Banana Joe's, a dance club in downtown Portland. Justin had to be at the airport very early the next morning, so we convinced ourselves that sleep was a waste of time. For those of us who made it to the end, breakfast at 4am was a great finishing touch to a fun-filled night.
Another terrific vacation.
