These pictures were taken during my trip to Ruidoso, New Mexico in March, 2002. I didn't take all the pictures, in fact, most were taken with cameras far better than mine... you may notice the exceptionally high quality of many of the photos.

As a group of 18, we drove out of Fort Worth around 10:00 on a Thursday night in five separate cars. After two gas-ups and three driving shifts, we landed at Denny's: Ruidoso for breakfast around 5am. After breakfast, some went exploring, some got some shut-eye, and some played spades. We checked into our rent house around 9:30, then hit the slopes around 10:30. Some took the ski school, while others took their chances and blazed down the mountain.

That evening, some people went out for drinks, some watched a movie at the house, and others went grocery shopping... but everyone was present for the fajitas that were being cooked up. YUMM! The group from Lubbock (Mike, Sheila, and David) arrived that evening. Later, games of dominoes and Drinking UNO were formed, which finally ceased around midnight.

Everyone caught some well-deserved zzz's, then woke up promptly in time to hit the mountain early. It had snowed overnight, so there was a little bit of added excitement to get there early. The ski schoolers from the previous day were bound and determined to attempt a more challenging slope. It was more of a challenge for some than others, but everyone made it down in one piece.

That night, after some serious showers and a little relaxation, we went out for steak dinner and a little bit of gambling at a nearby casino, despite the icy road conditions. I lost a whopping $1.25 before I gave up, but Vinh and Daver managed to win a few bucks. After returning home, we started up another round of Drinking UNO since it was such a hit the night before. This went on into the wee hours of the morning... it was a great time.

Sunday morning, it was nice to sleep late and take things slow. We gathered together, took a few pictures of all 21 of us, then headed into town for a little lunch and shopping. We headed out of town and most of us made a stop in Roswell to get a glimpse of some aliens. From there we were Fort Worth-bound, stopping only for dinner at a Schlotzki's. We made it back around 11:30 Sunday night.

And what did we have to show for all this? Some had new-found skills... some had sunburns... some had proof of police-intervention... and all had sore bones to mend. How else could you spell FUN??!!
